Prima is a group of lifelong cannabis cultivators obsessed with breeding, selecting, and sourcing the best commercial cannabis genetics on the planet.
Our founder is a combat veteran who came to cannabis as a way to help ease pain and encourage sleep. He popped his first seed over 20 years ago. Upon entering the legal market, he was shocked at the lack of vetted, pathogen-free, commercially viable cannabis cultivars.
Over the years, we have collected, bred, and hunted many of the best performing commercial cannabis cultivars. We select for yield, THC testing potential, hash potential, bag appeal, and nose/flavor.
Research and development plays a central role at Prima. Our Tissue Culture lab provides both nodal and meristem services: genetic banking, genetic cleanup, and direct-from-culture clones. Yes, we will clean up your genetics too.
Each and every plant is root-tested for Hops and Fusarium multiple times per year. And at Prima we grow in inert media to ensure no bugs or pathogens are present in our facility. Rockwool and recirculating deep water culture (RDWC) are our tools of choice.
With ongoing sourcing, breeding, and hunting projects – we cycle through genetics quarterly to ensure there is plenty of variety in the marketplace. At any given time there are 60-100 different genetics on hand in Prima’s library.
Our clones are delivered in 1.5” Rockwool cubes, fed 1.0 EC Clonex nutrients, hardened off at 80* F / 70% humidity, and dipped in a combo of Suffoil and Regalia on their way out – to prevent any possible contamination in transport.
